This program is designed for the period following resuscitation of the newborn until transferred to a neonatal transport team or neonatal ICU. The focus being post-resuscitation care of sick neonates including physical assessment, problem recognition and patient management.
S.T.A.B.L.E. – a mnemonic for; Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work and Emotional Support are the six essential assessments developed in this course to assist with the retention and recall of stabilization activities essential to provide care to a sick and/or premature infant.
This program is presented in a didactic/interactive format for all nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists who work with neonates and other maternal child healthcare providers in all settings.
