Critical Care RN Course

 

Course Overview

This Critical Care RN course will assist the Registered Nurse in obtaining skills for advancement into a Critical Care setting. The course is comprehensive and provides a minimum of 51 hours of Continuing Education Credit. Topics covered in the series have been developed by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. While each student candidate may be familiar with critical care this Critical Care Course expands and provides the necessary assessment and skills required to care for the critically ill patient.

The Critical Care RN Course is conducted over a 4 day period or 32 hours. It consists of various lecture modules and skills components. A clinical component may be required as part of the course. Home study is also required. The course has been reviewed and approved by the Florida, DC Boards of Nursing and developed based on the curriculum of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN). Course credits uploaded to CE Broker on successful completion of course.

Nurses are expected to have knowledge of 12 Lead EKG (link for 12 Lead course will be provided on paid registration) and a foundation in the critical care environment is preferred. A quiz and review will be given on the first day. It is recommended that the Registered Nurse have at least three years practical experience.
